November 2, 2022 - Starting November 2, all existing and new TIDAL members can create a profile to share their favorite playlists with family, friends, and music fans across the platform.
TIDAL members have created millions of playlists, each with more than eight personal playlists created each on average - from a deep dive into the origins of AfroBeats, a perfect companion to a morning walk, and many more. Now with TIDAL Profiles, listeners can discover new tracks, new albums, new artists, and keep up to date with music fans who share a similar taste in music.
Creating a profile is simple. TIDAL members can choose and update their display name at any time - emoji’s included. Once set-up, members have the option to make playlists they’ve created public for other listeners to search for within the TIDAL app. Playlists can also be shared publicly with shareable links.
“TIDAL profiles is one of many new features we are building into TIDAL to help music fans share and engage with each other,” said Agustina Sacerdote, Head of Product at TIDAL. “Playlists are personal yet also how most fans discover new music with their friends and family. Profiles is TIDAL’s first step in making streaming more social and communal which is an inherently part of experiencing music”.
TIDAL profiles will replace ‘My Collection’ as the in-app location for all saved content for members on mobile. For existing TIDAL members, all saved content is accessible to listeners after they create a new profile.
TIDAL profiles are available in-app on iOS and Android as well as desktop and web in 62 countries.
